The stone figures on Easter Island

Posted 1 year ago by pint in response to mr.pink's question: What do those stone carvings on Easter Island represent and who did that? Thanks for the future answer :) (give a different answer) .

There are more than 600 moai, stone statues, some as high as 30 to 50 feet. They are humane representations, staring eyeless towards the Pacific that encircles this remote island. There are 2 hypothesis concerning the authors: they are either pre-Incan carvers coming from Peru, or Polynesians who arrived there around 500 AD. Anyway, made of volcanic tufa and installed on stone altars, they are simply amazing.
