When I was traveling with my family through Chile and we stopped in Iquique we spend 2 nights at Res Nan-King, on Thompson. We chose it because it was safe. I was happy because I could change some dollars directly there, so I wouldn't have to look through town. I can give you their phone to check if they have available rooms: 423311.
