A few km west of San Pedro there is a nature reserve called Valle de Luna, where there are some great views of eroded salt mountains. The best time to see the valley is at sunset. You can get there by car, bus, bicycle or foot if you're up to it but it's 3 hours one way. You should take water, a camera and a torch with you.
